Nano PEG-Fe3O4 is a kind of multifunctional nanomaterial,which is made by wrapping or modifying polyethylene glycol (PEG) on the surface of magnetic nanoparticles. It integrates the magnetic characteristics of Fe3O4 nanoparticles and the outstanding properties of PEG, possessing advantages such as super paramagnetism, high stability, excellent biocompatibility, favorable water solubility, and multifunctionality. PEG is a polymeric material with high hydrophilicity, non-toxicity, no antigenicity, and biocompatibility.The modification of Fe3O4 with PEG can significantly improve the stability and biocompatibility of magnetic nanoparticles, reduce their immune response and clearance rate in vivo, and extend their circulation time in vivo. Nano PEG-Fe3O4 has a wide range of applications in biomedicine, materials science, and environmental governance. It can be used as a contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, drug carrier, biological separation, wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring, targeted therapy, and biosensor.
